Understanding the Legislative Process and Important Housing Industry Updates and Impacts from the 87th Texas Legislature
Doug Foster, Director of Regulatory Affairs, joined Polunsky Beitel Green, LLP in September 2014 to assist clients in all phases of regulatory approvals and investigations. Mr. Foster retired that same year as the Commissioner of the Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending where he served in various capacities for the TDSML for over 29 years. During his last five years with the agency, he also, served as Vice Chairman for the board of managers of the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS). While serving as an NMLS board member, Mr. Foster chaired the committees that explored both the feasibility and the eventual implementation of the Uniform State Test (UST) adopted by all 50 U.S. states and territories.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Doug began his career working for a credit union and worked for several years as a branch manager and a loan officer for a small savings and loan prior to his employment with the Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending.
